Refer a child to the Child Development Service

To get a child's development checked, fill in the online form or call us.

You, or anyone who has your permission, can refer your child to the Child Development Service.

This might include:

• early childhood educators
• teachers
• doctors
• paediatricians
• nurses
• case workers.

Practitioners should use our online form. Families should call us to discuss their concerns.

You can also call us on 02 6207 8884 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

After we get a referral

We will contact the person who referred your child to discuss their concerns.

• ask you to attend a drop-in clinic to see a speech pathologist, occupational therapist or physiotherapist
• tell you about other related services
• give you information about how to see a private therapist in the ACT.
